Full time and part time vacancies are more frequent from October to December and are less frequent after January each year.

Positions are advertised in the Geelong Advertiser.

Casual vacancies for relief staff in the field of Early Childhood Education arise throughout the year.

 

As part of our pool of kindergarten relief staff, suitably qualified staff are invited to apply for short duration work across the GKA group of centres. To apply, please post your resume & covering letter to PO Box 971, Geelong Victoria 3220.

 

Qualification requirements

All positions require:

  • Citizenship status or a valid visa with the right to work in Australia.
  • Staff are also expected to have a good working knowledge of information technology systems including internet and email.

Teacher and Assistant qualifications, training and experience is summarised below. Further details, including selection criteria, are in the position descriptions which can be downloaded by clicking on the links below.

Kindergarten Teachers are required to hold recognised academic qualifications, screening and operational training including:

  • A three year Early Childhood teaching qualification (minimum) as approved by the Victorian Branch of the Australia Early Childhood Association,
  • A current First Aid Certificate - Level 2 or higher with annual CPR and accredited anaphylaxis - 21827 or 21659,
  • Provide and maintain a current Police Record Check (for Primary Nominees only) and a current WWC assessment,
  • Complete the GKA Nominee Process, and
  • Current knowledge of the Children’s Services Act and Regulations

Position description and selection criteria - Teacher.

 

Three year old programme Activity Group Leaders require:

  • A Diploma (Children's Services) or equivalent
  • First Aid Certificate Level 2 or higher with annual CPR and accredited anaphylaxis - 21827 or 21659,
  • Provide and maintain a current WWC assessment.
  • Complete the GKA Nominee Process
  • Current knowledge of the Children’s Services Act and Regulations

Position description and selection criteria - Activity Group Leader

 

Kindergarten Assistants require:

  • Minimum Certificate 111 (Children's Services) and previous experience working with children and families
  • First Aid Certificate Level 2 or higher with annual CPR and accredited anaphylaxis - 21827 or 21659,
  • Provide and maintain a current employee WWC assessment.
  • Complete the GKA Nominee Process
  • Current knowledge of Children’s Services Act and Regulations
